My weekend was very busy and I had a lot of fun. It all started on Thursday going to a Halloween party, it was fun to get all dressed up. The whole weekend I went to different Halloween parties with my friends. Everywhere you went you saw people dressed in costumes. I saw so many creative ideas. Sunday was my day to just relax and finish my homework and study. I had such a busy weekend I was tired and went to bed early, I thought that would help me with my 8am class on Monday. I ended up waking up at like 1am and I couldn’t get back to sleep. By the time I did get back to sleep I think it was pretty late. I over slept for my 8am class today and was rushing all morning.

We didn’t have class on Thursday, but instead we had meetings with our teacher. My meeting was on Friday October 26, 12 at 12pm. My math class had just got out at 11:50, and I was rushing over to sprawl tower to be on time. I made it with 2 minutes to spare. After both of my assignments were read we discussed some of the things I could do to make my paper better, also some things I could research to back up my thesis a little bit more. Overall everything was good and I think I’m on the right track for writing my paper.

My thesis for project 2:

The movie In Time is a great example of showing 2 different backgrounds of people, (the rich and the poor) having totally different lives but both not actually living, because they are always worried about time.

Thursday’s class we talked about analyzing things. We looked at the true meaning of something. Also tried to see something that is supposed to be hidden. There was a site that people could give their opinion on what they thought some of the artist lyrics truly meant. I thought that it was cool to do, because once I hear a song I don’t usually try and find what the artist really means when listening to their lyrics. We then were supposed to come up with our on thesis for our next project where we will be analyzing something. It was really hard for me at first to find something that I would be able to talk about in 4 pages but to also analyze it and prove a point.

Sunday night I locked my keys in the car at a gas station. My car doesn’t have automatic locks so whenever you get out the car you have to lock the door by hand. I’m so use to locking my door when I get out, that it’s just a habit now. It was raining really hard, so I was rushing to get gas really quick. I hoped out locked my door and slammed it shut. I realized right then and there that I had locked myself out. I started to panic a little bit wondering what I was going to do. I asked the guy at the pump next to me if I could use his cell phone. I called my mom to tell her what happened. She reminded me that I had an extra car key in my room. I asked the stranger next to me if he could drive me right around the corner to my boyfriend’s apartment. They were kind enough to bring me there. I then got into the car with Greg we drove to my dorm and I was then let into my room by a master key that the RA had, since of course my room key was on my key chain in the car as well. Once I got my spare key, we rushed back to the gas station; I opened my doors and then was relieved that my doors were no longer locked. It was a crazy night and I was so nervous but everything seemed to work out for me!

Thursday’s class was like usual really fun. Working in groups and trying to prove which one of the characters was actually monstrous was cool to do. I think that there were a lot of good arguments for who was most monstrous. My group was trying to prove why Carrie was the most monstrous, we listed a lot of facts that happened in the movie but also things that were said in one of the articles we read for class. We also compared the columbine shooting to Carries situation. In the end everyone has a different opinion and it doesn’t make since to keep arguing over who is right or wrong, but to agree to disagree and just try to see someone else’s point of view.

               My weekend was overall really fun. I actually got my first tattoo! The plan was to get it on Friday at 4pm but the tattoo guy was sick, so I stayed the night in my hometown of Grand Rapids hoping to get it the next day at 2pm. It was getting closer to the time for me to go. My mom then gets a call from the lady at the front desk saying that the tattoo guy was again sick, but would for sure be in Sunday at 2pm for me to then get the tattoo done. I think that I was being tested on my patience this weekend, I really wanted that tattoo and my hopes kept getting crushed every time. It was then Sunday morning and my mom called to make sure the guy was actually there before I drove back to Grand Rapids. He was finally there and I finally got my first tattoo. Yes, that tattoo hurt but it was way different than I had expected it to be. The tattoo is big for my first one, but it’s very meaningful to me, and I love it.

Class on Thursday was a little different; when we were told there would be a movie for class I was not thinking the movie “Carrie” as an option at all. I actually watch that movie a long time ago with my cousin, so I remembered some of the main parts that happened. The questions we had to answer for homework was a good idea, it helped see the movie in a different ways than other scary movies. It’s also an older movie so the lighting and camera angles are different than some of the scary movies today as well. In the beginning and throughout most of the movie Carrie is the innocent girl that is constantly being bullied by other people. There were different people who were the bullies towards Carrie, girls at her school, teachers, and her own mother. The sad part is towards the end when she feels as though everyone is against her and laughing at her. She kills them all, even the gym teacher who was truly there for her. This shows how some people’s break when their buttons are pushed too much.
Overall i thought that the movie was a good, there was just a lot of unnecessary nudity in the movie.

My weekend was really fun, on Friday I just hung out with my friends. Saturday I actually got the chance to sleep in, and then later I went to the game.  The game started off fun, they cheerleaders were throwing shirts and I caught one! Then towards the end of the game it got a little boring because our football team was losing by a lot. My high school team was really good at football and the games were always fun, so it was a little weird to see them down by a lot. Sunday I did my homework and started studying for my big test that I have to take.
